Scraping silicon from #70's Engine
Helping Jim on gasket work. Wade just spilled oil all over the floor mat, so I was soaking wet with oil! Could not mind the oil now as time was a premium. Jim had already missed the first practice.
Christine explained what needed to be done on the rig. Within half an hour she would "switch team" and hop on Kelly's rig and ended up winning the race.
Off and running. Jim and Rose (my backup) managed to finish next to last. Not bad considering 24 hours ago the rig had a blown engine.
This would have been my season debut. But unfortunately both Subculture Racing rigs #1 and #70 had major problems the previous night and the engine of the #70 had to be changed. While #1 finally managed to get out, we were not sure if #70 could make it until the third and final call of the race. I was so busy helping to get #70 running that I did not have time to even register, and consider its problem, it was a miracle that we managed to fire it up less than five minutes before race time. Rose from Team Redneck Racing was the alternate passenger, and she was immediately brought in, barely had time to suit up, and off they went. Jim and Rose finished next to last..but they did finish.
